"Worshiping God, Loving Others"
North Seattle Church of the Nazarene

OUR VISION

“Worshiping God, Serving Others”

At NSCN, we have a vision: to see the love of Jesus Christ spread throughout the whole state of Washington AND the whole world!  Here’s how we feel led to accomplish that goal:

WORSHIPING GOD through…

  • Meaningful worship encounters as we gather to sing praises, confess our faith, pray together, partake in the Sacraments of baptism and communion, and hear and respond to God’s Word proclaimed.

  • Small group growth opportunities like Sunday school (every Sunday at 9:30 a.m. where all ages learn God’s Word in small group settings), HoPE groups (these home groups meet together weekly all over the Greater Seattle area to pray, fellowship, and dig deeper into God’s Word), and one-on-one discipleship opportunities (need a mentor on your spiritual journey?  Just ask!).

  • Special gatherings for focused prayer, praise, and celebration throughout the Church Year (Advent/Christmas, Lent, Holy Week, Pentecost, and more!)

SERVING OTHERS by…

  • Local and global “Work and Witness” trips, where we take assistance, partner with communities and churches, and share our faith both locally and globally.  Past trips have included assistance to victims of Hurricane Katrina, assisting with Jesus Film distribution in Africa and the Dominican Republic, and helping to repair a church in Nome, Alaska!  We also assist local congregations like Capitol Hill Ministries/Church of the Undignified in downtown Seattle!

  • Local Agape Team assistance ministries.  Our Agape (“Love”) Team meets frequently with individuals and families who need special assistance financially and spiritually.

  • Reaching out to the homeless community of Seattle through our partnership with ministries like Vision House, where several of our church members at NSCN serve on the advisory board for Vision House North.

  • Assisting local hospital and hospice ministries.  Pastor Charles serves in an advisory capacity on the Stevens Hospital ethics panel.

  • Being a “Big Brother” church to several congregations in Western Washington who need help with finances or resources.

  • Sending out workers into God’s harvest field!  NSCN members and friends are serving in various ministries – Bible translation ministry, Jesus Film, prison ministry, higher education, feeding the hungry, etc. – all over the world!

YOU’RE INVITED TO COME AND SHARE IN THIS VISION OF WORSHIPING GOD AND SHARING HIS LOVE WITH THE WHOLE WORLD AT NSCN!
